Dan Lane is a truly gifted animator. It is a joy to watch him working through his animation because his shots always have strong poses with excellent timing choices - sophisticated, and yet so simple and pure at the same time. Dan’s work on The LEGO Movie helped set the style of animation, the tone of the performances and the range of the motions. He interacts really well with the animation director, discussing and critiquing his performances and then addressing any resulting notes quickly. Next time I am crewing for an animated feature film, I will definitely be giving Dan a call.

Dan was one of the independent animators that used our rendering service to produce Two Fellas. It was a great short film and when we needed to commission a film of our own he was out first choice. Dan is great to work with, full of creative ideas given the vaguest of briefs, punctual and diplomatic! And most importantly the end product is always high quality, delivered on time and in budget.
In fact he's worked on two productions for us now and I wouldn't hesitate to work with him again.

Dan truly is an all round master. He can take a concept right through, from his excellent design & art direction skills, to modeling, to animation setup, character performance - right up to final composition, ready for broadcast in any medium.
Whether it's as an auteur, producing his own short films, to choosing any one discipline (or seven) to collaborate on projects, Dan is first class.
What is superb about Dan is NOT that he can do each of these disciplines, but that he can EXCEL at each and every one.
Dan's sense of humour and performance skills are one in a million. No, one in two million in fact ....
These are all reasons why I greatly miss working with Dan every single day, and wouldn't hesitate to do so given the opportunity.
